Baby Mini Album

I made a mini album for a friend of mine expecting a baby. She decorated the nursery with stars and planets and I was thrilled to find I had some paper left from an old kit of ours, Stardust. 

It's mini album was made using 2 keys on the new Cricut Artbooking cartridge, this is an actual mini album on the cartridge.

Crop Packing List

Many of my customers state they are overwhelmed about the idea of attending a crop- when we discuss it I find out that mostly this is because they don't really know how to pack for it.  Many people just grab random paper, photos etc into a bin. Also many of my customers try to pack everything they think they *might* need.  

A little preparation before hand could make attending a crop much less stressful and fun!  

If you are attending with friends-discuss before hand what bigger supplies you would all like to have access too-and split them up so everyone brings one thing.  

I have copied the list below with items I choose to use-there is room to write you own items for anything extra you might need/want.  This is just a suggestion list, based on what I do before a crop. I hope this helps you out!  Leave a comment with items you take to crops that I left off!

Remember, it is important to bring specific projects to a crop- not to pack everything you own and hope you get stuff done-plan it out!  I always bring an extra project pack or two, although I find with socializing I end up not doing as much as I plan.  J

Your items you pack may also vary depending on the length of time of the crop.  The important thing is not get overwhelmed-crops are a time to join together with friends and other scrappers to get some work done but have fun while you do!

Page Kits ( items below in each kit)

□   2 Cardstock for bases-typically same color □   1-2 pieces of coordinating color cardstock (can be different colors) □   2-3 coordinating patterned paper □   Project Specific pictures-not all your pictures □   Stamps you want to use on your page □   Coordinating embellishments you may want to use with the papers you choose □   If a Cricut is not going to be available, cut pieces out ahead of time and put in your pack □   I put my page kits in CTMH large 13X13 plastic bags- but the large size ziplock bags or the album protectors can be used-whatever works for you.

Tools

□   Trimmer and extra blade □   Scissors □   Adhesive- I typically bring 3 refills with me and some liquid type glue as well □   Stamp pads if you have Stamps in your page kits □   If a Cricut will be available, a cartridge or two you may want to use □   Journaling pens □   Tweezers and Piercing tool □   Ruler □   Acrylix Blocks if using stamps □   Any punches or corner rounders you may want to use

Misc

A Gift and New Product

My daughter is pretty excited about the base and bling items in the new idea book (going live TOMORROW) and we are going to do a workshop with her friends in a couple of weeks.  here are some examples of what the girls might make! I will have a video and step by step instructions up next week.

This is a gift for a friend of mine who is having a little boy.  We sell these stars, although the paper pack is  a retired pack but when she told me she was using these colors and star themed room I couldn't wait to use it for this!  I can't wait till she receives it at her shower next month-unfortunately its in Atlanta so I wont be there to see it in person! 

Next is one our new home decor frames!  There is a black one with wires across-that is the one I meant to order.  But I forced myself to use it even though I didn't order what I had planned to.  I am using it as a weekly calendar.  Each family member has its own color/paper pattern.  I also put events that time/place changes in our flip flaps and will write on them with a dry erase marker.  What do you think?

studio j and project life

I decided to start using Studio J for Project Life.  I did the Feb-June last week, look below to see the smaller pics of my layouts.  These layouts took me only 30 minutes to complete-can you tell they are Studio J (other than the studio J logo on the web picture-which is NOT printed when the pages come)

I also did an extra layout through Studio J from a character experience at Disney this past March.  The paper pack isnt available any longer to do it traditionally, so I used the paper pack in Studio J-that is another wonderful option in Studio J.  If you had a favorite paper pack that was retired-you may still be able to use it in Studio J!  If you would like a personal consultation for Studio J please let me know!  My next project in Studio J is to scan in my daughters artwork from preschool to the computer and make a few layouts with those pictures.  Stay Tuned!

august events!

Hello customers!  A look at my August Events-they are at the end of the month due to our vacation to Disneyland and school starting.  :)
Friday night Crop on August 23rd.  5-Midnight.  Space is limited-sign up quickly.  There is no cost, you are welcome to bring your dinner and a snack to share.  I do ask though if you want to use my cricut that you bring your own mats and donate $1 for my blade fund. 
Sarita Workshop- August 29
Come and make 2- 2 page layouts, 2- 1 page layouts, 2 cards and a true fit folio (or 2 more 1 page layouts if you don’t want the fit folio) All pieces will be cut for you in advance, all you have to do is show up and put them together!
Date: Thursday August 29
Time: 7-8:30 PM
Cost: $25. Club Members- since this is our pack for the month if you would like to participate in this workshop and do the layouts/cards we do not do at club your cost will be around $10-depends on what extras you ordered for August. Email me for details.
Workshop limited to 8 participants. RSVP and prepay by August 11^th.  *** if you can’t make the workshop but would like to purchase the kits and put them together on your own, that is fine as well-cost remains the same.  Just let me know if that is what you prefer.  If you are not in the Greater Cincinnati area and would like the kit mailed to you-we will need to add shipping costs as well**

Dream Pop Card Workshop!
Date: Monday August 26 7-8:30 PM
Cost: $2 per card
All pieces will be cut for you- just come and assemble them. J 3 of the cards are 5 ¼ X 5 1/4 , one is 3X3 gift tag and the cupcake card is 3 inches.
Please RSVP by August 11- you can pay the night of the workshop-there will be a 5 card limit on each card per person. If you are interested in obtaining the kits for these cards, I can put you on a waiting list for after the event and see what is left.

Hi! Welcome to my blog.  If you are following our July “Use your Stash Blog Hop” you have probably just come from: Rachel's Blog.

Our topic this month was flowers.  I decided to use paper flowers from CTMH Artiste Cricut Cartridge and added flowers to 2 cards I am doing for a workshop next month with the Dream Pop Paper pack that was sold during May.  I purchased a few extras so I could do a workshop. 
The cupcake card is also on this cartridge.  The one here I cut at 5 inches, but still came out a bit large. I did have to cut two of them out of different colors so I could have a different color for the cupcake liner.  The flowers used as sprinkles were cut at 2 inches, the flowers on the liner at 6. 


My other card used the same flowers as above, I had cut more than I needed.  This simple card was made with the Dream Pop kit as well, and our new mini stamp sets which will be available August 1 for only $2.95! There are different ones to choose and on this card I used the Thank You Sentiment.  The mat and the space I stamped was an image from our new cricut cartridge-Artbooking, which is also available on August 1.  This is a must have cartridge!
