BAck from tahoe!!

Well I’m back from Tahoe and had a great time!  Arrived Thursday morning and Guinevere picked me up from the airport and we were off to Tahoe after lunch! I made lots of new friends this weekend!  My team is great!  It snowed while I was up there!  (and it was in the 80s and beautiful here at home!) I worked on Teresa’s wedding album, some of our family/Kayley’s album and started another album that’s a gift.  I didn’t hit a block until about 11 PM Saturday night!  Sunday morning Guinevere and I left and she dropped me back off at the airport. My flights home were bumpy!  I had a connection in Salt Lake City and the weather was bad across the plains so they had to fly us up through Wisconsin and then back down to Ohio.  We were hardly allowed to get up because the flight was so bumpy!  3 hours and 40 minutes of having to stay in my seat!  I’m glad I didn’t have to go to the bathroom!

I learned a lot in Tahoe, and also realized what a disadvantage I am at with not being close to my team.  They are able to bounce ideas off of each other and come up with some great things!! The things they are able to put together just amazed me!  I also saw how different I need to prepare for workshops to run my business, etc.  So it was helpful in that regard.

Hopefully I can attend every spring!  They do one in the fall, but my Phi Sig reunion is in the fall so I will have to pass in the fall!

Getting ready for the week, today was rough, but Kayley was great today so that helped!

Dear Nicole,

Quarter Auction

I apologize if you get this more than once. I belong to the Cincinnati Chapter of the Direct Selling Network and the first Thursday of every month we have a quarter auction. May is a huge month and you must RSVP to me, but I know some of you like both my stuff and stuff from other vendors so I wanted to get this all to you.
I need anyone interested to RSVP to me by Thursday morning, I have to turn my count in on Thursday night at our meeting. You dont want to miss this opportunity, lots of great stuff and you only have to bid with quarters! You could pay 25 cents and get an item retailing $15-$25! Plus in May we have extra surprises as well, I hope you will consider coming!
Please remember to RSVP. THANKS!
Here is the information:

GUESTS: PLEASE RSVP TO YOUR VENDOR!

Our May Quarter Auction is to be filled with goodies, prizes, raffles, money and so much more!!

Bidding items are showcased from the following companies (on a rotating basis): Avon, Discovery Toys, Tupperware, Wildtree, Longaberger, Passion Parties, Silpada Designs, Mary Kay, Stampin' Up, Arbonne, Pampered Chef, Southern Living at Home, Thirty One Gifts, Close to My Heart, and more....

What is a Multi-Vendor Quarter Auction©?
It is a copyrighted event created by the National Direct Sales Network for their network chapters. It is a charitable event that we use to raise funds for our favorite charity, the Child Wellness Community Fund (you can learn more about what they do at www.childwellnessfair.com .) Our vendors donate products to the charity for the silent raffle, and the CWF representatives often have items in the auction line up as well. This is not a money making event of any kind for our vendors. It is an event to help raise funds for our charity, move excess product we have, and meet new and potential customers for our businesses!

How do I play? How do I win?
Bring a bag or rolls of quarters (for reference, an average of $35 or so will allow you to bid on everything, if you wanted to.) One by one, items are held up for guests to bid on. You bid on items for only 1,2,3 or 4 quarters based on the retail value of the item! Once everyone bids, and you can win items for only a quarter or two when your paddle # is called!! This excitement is AMAZING! You can even win multiple times!!! Last month, one of the guests one 4 times!!! You never know what will happen!!

REMINDERS FOR MAY QUARTER AUCTION:

1. $1.00 admission at the door ($1 is per paddle)
2. Bring a little extra $ for the Kids in Kenya raffle.
3. Bring friends & win a chance to be QUEEN OF THE NIGHT & bid the entire night (in June) for FREE! One chance per new guest you bring!

Come support the ODSN© and our monthly charitable fundraiser for the Child Wellness Community Fund!

Today!

well I'm 37 today! woo hoo! lol. had an ok week. some disappointing things happened at my full time job but oh well, i'll get over it!

last night we took patsy out for her 40th and beth, val, eric, dave, tom, will and beth were all able to join us for at least part of the night. we had a good time!

i worked on 2 projects this week. The small box is my second altered project (my first being a paint can last year) but i made this box b/c I never bought anything to put my grandma's ashes in. morbid i know, but I decided to make something myself instead of buying something. not sure if i'm going to add anything more to it or not.

the other was Patsy's birthday gift! We've been friends for almost 19 years! unfortunately many of the pictures of us i couldnt use b/c one of us (or both) were a little uh, "intoxicated" at the time! haha! but i found some i could use.

Happy Easter everyone!

Apparently I don't know how old I am!

Ok, so today I'm working on my April newsletter (link to the right). Because of my bday Saturday, I offered my yearly special of certain items discounted to the percent equal to my age.

So I send my newsletter out mentioning the items and offering a 38% discount in honor of my 38th bday. Nice of me huh?

Except I'm not going to be 38! I'm going to be 37! Are you kidding me? How do I make myself a year older? AND not realize it till 3 hours later? Seriously?

uggh. oh well!

I didn't get projects done today, but I'm going to work tonight on what projects I want to work on when I go to Tahoe later this month so I can order the pictures I need.

I did however take a couple pics of part of my craft corner, and of one of our furry kids that loves my scrapbooking chair, and as you can tell by the look on his face, he was thinking I was going to make him move, and he wasn't happy about it!

So that was my Monday!

Sort of a productive day

well i still had some neck pain today, but we promised our daughter we'd go bowling so we did that today! it was wierd to not have guard rehearsal with it being Sunday! I must admit I loved my lazy weekend!

Today i attempted a weaved basket out of one piece of 12 X 12 cardstock which didn't come out too good, but for my first attempt wasnt too bad! I got the patten off of splitcoasters.

i finished two layouts today as well. one from our Christmas Disney vacation in 2007 and one from 2008 with my daughter's formal pictures.

I'm off tomorrow and have a ton of errands to run and some work for my full time job to do, but hopefully I'll get some stuff done tomorrow!

Have a good week!

Some of the England Layouts!

Here are some of the layouts I was talking about in the intro blog!!

Also Today

Today is also a sad day. One year ago today, 2 Colerain firefighters lost their lives in the line of duty. Captain Robin Broxterman and firefighter Brian Schira. It was the first time in many many years a firefighter in Colerain had lost their lives in the line of duty, and the community really pulled together during this tragedy. We remember them today, and every day.

Well here I am!

So I decided to jump into the world of blogging! We'll see how this goes! I hope everyone enjoys it, but please have some patience with me as I get it up and running!

I'm going to try and post some pictures of my England scrapbook. My mother treated me to a trip to England last September. The book took me about 4 months to complete, and I'm pretty proud of it! (although I am a bit irriated, after I got the whole book together and reorganized my scrap area, I found a layout I had put to the side because I was frustrated with it! So I have to finish that one now!)

I'm working on a slideshow to show the whole thing, but its a huge book and it will take me a while! Check back!

I received my summer idea books yesterday, I am so excited! Lots of new product! Check back for kick off date and National Scrapbooking Day workshop!!!
